Not Always as We Appear
Title: Not Always as We Appear
Text: 1 Samuel 16:4-13
1. 5 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Matthew 6:5–6.
2. 8 I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;
1 Timothy 2:8.
3. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1 John 1:8.
4. 16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16–18.
