How can God be all-powerful and all-loving when life is the way that it is? Why do we suffer? Why do we feel pain? Why is there evil?
It can be so hard to understand why people treat us wrongly, why our jobs are stressful, why we fight disease and old age, why we lose the ones we love, why the curse of sin affects every stage and every part of life.
If God is truly sovereign, why can't He just make it go away?
The gospel gives us good news-- He will! God promises to wipe every tear in the age to come, and believing in Jesus for our salvation is all we need to do to enter the paradise our hearts long for.
But for now, while we're on earth-- where do we find rest, peace, joy, patience, strength, courage, and hope?
Friends, there is only one well of living water. Our intimacy with Jesus, which is built through meditating on His Word, prayer, and fellowship with other believers, is how we find ourselves continually filled so that we can wait for Heaven well.
Unless we receive God's love and enjoy a personal relationship with Him, our faith journey will be more of a burden than a blessing. We need to know Him as lord and king, but also as father and friend.
